翻译:
The son of the King of Yan was sent as a hostage to the Qin state. Upon hearing this, he asked to return.
The son of the King of Yan sent someone to tell the King of Qin, “Although Yan is a small state, it is also a feudal state and should not be treated as a subject. Now that the King of Qin is brutal and without moral principles, all the feudal states wish to jointly punish him. The son of the King of Yan, although young, is generous and willing to eliminate the harm for the world. If the King of Qin is willing to forgive Yan, I, the son of the King of Yan, will offer the map of Yan to show loyalty. If the King of Qin will not forgive, I am willing to die for it.”
The King of Qin said, “The son of the King of Yan, you dare to be so disrespectful! You dare to offer the map of Yan! I must punish you!”
The son of the King of Yan replied, “Even if I die, the map of Yan will still be there. Although I die, my determination will still be there!”
The son of the King of Yan then killed himself.
When the King of Qin heard about it, he was extremely angry and ordered the son of the King of Yan’s head to be hung at the city gate of Xianyang to show everyone.
Jing Ke, upon hearing about the son of the King of Yan’s death, was extremely saddened and indignant, and decided to avenge him.
Jing Ke said, “The son of the King of Yan was my friend, and I must avenge him!”
Jing Ke then took a dagger and went to the Qin state.
When Jing Ke arrived in Qin, he saw the King of Qin and said, “I am Jing Ke, a warrior from Yan, and I have come to avenge the son of the King of Yan.”
The King of Qin said, “The son of the King of Yan, you dare to be so disrespectful! I am the King of Qin, and you dare to come to avenge me!”
Jing Ke replied, “I avenge the son of the King of Yan, not the King of Qin!”
Jing Ke then drew the dagger and stabbed the King of Qin.
The King of Qin was startled and drew his sword to defend himself.
Jing Ke fought with the King of Qin, but was defeated and died.
The King of Qin was extremely angry and ordered the entire country to search for Jing Ke.
Jing Ke’s death led the Qin state into chaos.
